World’s First Formula E Karting Experience Opens in Abha

The new attraction at SEVEN Abha features a 428-metre indoor track and electric karts for adults, juniors and families

Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN), a wholly owned subsidiary of Qiddiya Investment Company, has opened Formula E Karting at SEVEN Abha in partnership with Formula E.

The attraction is the first Formula E Karting experience of its kind in the world to open to the public. It combines technology inspired by Formula E cars with competitive racing and interactive entertainment.

Located indoors, the attraction features a 428-metre track and electric karts designed for adult and junior drivers, as well as dual-seater karts. The experience incorporates advanced technology and has been developed around safety standards for guests across different ages and skill levels.

Beyond the Track

Formula E Karting also includes interactive spaces, exhibits and displays exploring the history of Formula E and the innovations behind electric racing.

The experience also highlights sustainability and introduces visitors to technology and solutions in the field. The aim is to bring together racing, entertainment and interactive learning in a single destination.

Essam Aljubair, COO of SEVEN, said the opening represents an important step in the company’s plans to bring accessible entertainment experiences to communities across Saudi Arabia.

He also said the partnership could help identify and develop Saudi motorsport talent, with the ambition of eventually seeing a Saudi driver compete in Formula E.

Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, said the partnership creates the championship’s first karting experience and provides an opportunity to introduce new audiences to Formula E while supporting the growth of its fan base in the region.

SEVEN Abha is the first of four SEVEN destinations planned to feature Formula E Karting in Saudi Arabia. Additional locations are planned for SEVEN Al Hamra in Riyadh, Dammam and Al Kharj.

The attraction is part of SEVEN’s wider programme to develop integrated entertainment destinations that combine locally developed concepts with experiences created in partnership with international brands. The programme supports the development of Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector and the quality-of-life objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
