TCS Renews Jaguar TCS Racing Partnership Ahead of Formula E GEN4 Era

The multi-year renewal expands TCS’s role as the team’s Official AI Partner as Jaguar TCS Racing enters the next era of Formula E.

London / Mumbai, September 23, 2026: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Jaguar TCS Racing have announced a multi-year extension of their title partnership, expanding their collaboration as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship enters the GEN4 era.

Under the renewed agreement, TCS will also become Jaguar TCS Racing’s Official AI Partner, with the partnership set to explore how artificial intelligence can improve racing operations and engineering while generating insights for the development of future Jaguar electric vehicles.

From Digital Innovation to AI

The partnership builds on five years of collaboration between TCS and Jaguar TCS Racing. During that period, the team secured the 2024 and 2026 ABB FIA Formula E Teams’ World Championships.

Jaguar TCS Racing also recorded four victories and 10 podium finishes during the 2025/26 season, ending the GEN3 era as Teams’ World Champions.

The expanded partnership will focus on applying AI and other advanced technologies across areas including race operations, engineering and performance analysis.

Abhinav Kumar, Global Chief Marketing Officer at TCS, said the renewal will allow both organisations to further explore AI and advanced technologies to identify new performance opportunities as Formula E moves into the GEN4 era.

Chris Thorp, Chairman of JLR Motorsport, which operates Jaguar TCS Racing, said TCS has played an important role in helping the team develop its performance, efficiency and innovation capabilities.

Technology Behind the Race

Over the past five years, TCS and Jaguar TCS Racing have used cloud technology and digital twins to support race performance and the development of electric mobility technologies.

A key element of the partnership is TCS’s Virtual Vehicle Validation Model (V3M). The capability allows engineers to validate software changes and run continuous simulations, helping them assess potential changes within the time constraints of Formula E competition.

The partnership is also designed to transfer learnings between the racetrack and road, using Formula E as a testing environment for technologies that can contribute to future electric vehicles.

Inspiring the Next Generation

The collaboration extends beyond racing through TCS’s Ignite My Future (IMF) initiative.

Since 2023, nearly 30,000 students across 16 countries have explored applications of racing data, design and strategy through customised lesson plans and behind-the-scenes content featuring Jaguar TCS Racing.

Hundreds of students have also taken part in at-track experiences with TCS and Jaguar TCS Racing at Formula E races around the world.

Entering the GEN4 Era

Jaguar TCS Racing will enter the GEN4 era as the reigning Teams’ World Champions. The team has registered for the next phase of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, which begins with the 2026/27 season and runs through Seasons 13 to 16.

Jaguar returned to Formula E in 2016 as the first luxury manufacturer to join the all-electric championship. Since then, Jaguar TCS Racing has recorded more than 20 race victories and over 60 podium finishes.

The team will continue to develop its own electric powertrain, including the motor generator unit, transmission, inverter and rear suspension. For the GEN4 era, Jaguar will also supply its powertrain to the Envision Formula E Team and Fortescue Zero Racing.

Formula E will continue to serve as a development platform for JLR’s electric vehicle technology, with the company using its Race to Innovate approach to transfer learnings between competition and road-car development.

The 2026/27 Formula E season will feature races on street circuits and permanent tracks across cities including São Paulo, Jeddah, Tokyo and Monaco, with new additions including Austin, Brands Hatch and Zandvoort. The season finale will take place as a double-header in Tokyo.
