New GT racing series expands Saudi Arabia’s motorsport landscape with regional competition across Saudi Arabia and Qatar

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, August 2, 2026: ALTAWKILAT Motorsport has officially announced the launch of Motor Mania GT, a new Saudi-promoted GT racing series that will serve as an official support championship to the Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship. Held under the sporting regulations of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), the series marks another milestone in the company’s vision to strengthen motorsport across Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region.
Motor Mania GT has been created to provide drivers with an accessible pathway into competitive GT racing while maintaining the excitement, speed and close on-track battles that define the category. The championship forms part of ALTAWKILAT Motorsport’s long-term strategy to build a thriving regional racing ecosystem, creating more opportunities for drivers, teams and motorsport enthusiasts to compete in professionally organised events.

The inaugural season will feature a 12-car multi-class grid, bringing together high-performance race cars from renowned manufacturers including Ferrari, McLaren, Radical and Ginetta. Designed to offer a competitive yet welcoming environment, the series aims to attract both emerging talent and experienced racers looking to compete in structured race weekends.
Each event will follow a professional race format, with every day featuring a 25-minute practice session, 25-minute qualifying session, and a 35-minute race. All races will begin with a rolling start, while participating drivers will be required to hold a valid SAMF race licence.

Commenting on the launch, Mohammed Abduljawad, Chairman and CEO of ALTAWKILAT, said Motor Mania GT represents an important step towards building a stronger and more accessible motorsport platform across the region.
“Motor Mania GT is an important step in our ambition to build a stronger and more accessible motorsport platform in the region. GT racing has a unique appeal because it combines performance, competition and entertainment, and this format gives more drivers the chance to experience proper wheel-to-wheel racing in a professional environment,” he said.
He added that the championship is designed to create new opportunities for drivers, teams and fans while reinforcing ALTAWKILAT Motorsport’s ambition to become a leading regional GT promoter.
“For us, Motor Mania GT is about opening new doors for the region. By bringing GT racing alongside the Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship, we are giving drivers, teams and fans another way to engage with motorsport while supporting ALTAWKILAT Motorsport’s ambition to become a regional GT promoter.”

As an official support series to the Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship, Motor Mania GT will contribute to a broader race weekend programme that increases on-track action and delivers a more varied experience for spectators. The addition of GT racing alongside Formula 4 competition is expected to enhance the appeal of race weekends while encouraging greater participation across different levels of motorsport.
The 2026 Motor Mania GT calendar will feature two rounds. The opening event is scheduled for 2–3 October 2026 at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, followed by the season finale on 7–8 December 2026 at Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, reflecting the championship’s regional ambitions.
Motor Mania GT also strengthens ALTAWKILAT Motorsport’s growing Motor Mania platform, joining initiatives such as the Motor Mania Track Challenge to provide multiple entry points into circuit racing. Together, these programmes aim to nurture local talent, encourage wider participation and contribute to the continued growth of motorsport in Saudi Arabia and across the Gulf.
Registration for the inaugural Motor Mania GT season will open soon, with limited grid positions available. Further details regarding driver registration and participation will be announced in the coming weeks.
